General Terms and Conditions

Version of 10.10.2026

1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all translation, post-editing, transcreation, revision, proofreading, terminology, copywriting and layout services provided by iQ Services GmbH (hereinafter “iQ Services”), Im Lindenacker 28, 8707 Uetikon am See, to its clients (hereinafter “the client”).

Individual agreements concluded in writing with the client take precedence over these GTC. The client’s own terms and conditions only apply if iQ Services has accepted them in writing. By placing an order or accepting a quote, the client acknowledges these GTC.

2. Services

iQ Services provides language services in the agreed language combinations, in particular between French, German and English.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, iQ Services does not provide certified or sworn translations.

The content and scope of the service are set out in the accepted quote or the order confirmation.

3. Quotes and conclusion of the contract

Quotes are prepared on the basis of the documents and information provided by the client and remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. The contract is concluded when the client accepts the quote or when iQ Services confirms the order in writing (including by email).

If the volume, difficulty or format of the documents differs from what was announced, iQ Services may adjust its quote. The client is informed before any additional work is carried out.

4. Client obligations

The client provides iQ Services, in good time and in a usable format, with:

  • the complete and final source text;
  • the relevant context: target audience, intended use, desired tone;
  • any glossaries, style guides, reference translations or reference documents.

Changes to the source text after the assignment has started may result in additional charges and a later delivery date. The client is responsible for holding the necessary rights to the content entrusted to iQ Services.

5. Deadlines

Agreed delivery dates are met provided the client supplies the complete source text and all necessary information (reference documents, terminology, formatting requirements) at the time the assignment is confirmed. Any delay in providing this material, or any change to the source text after work has begun, may result in a revised delivery date.

iQ Services is not liable for delays caused by force majeure, technical failures beyond its control, or incomplete/late information from the client.

6. Prices and Payment

Quotes are based on the source text and information provided at the time of the request. Any change to the scope, volume, or nature of the assignment after confirmation may result in an adjusted price.

Invoices are payable within 10 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing. In the event of late payment, iQ Services reserves the right to suspend ongoing or future work until payment is received.

7. Confidentiality

iQ Services treats all documents and information received from the client as confidential. Access to these documents is limited to the persons involved in the assignment, and the tools and processes used are chosen according to the sensitivity of the content, as agreed with the client where relevant.

8. Liability

iQ Services undertakes to deliver work of professional quality, consistent with the information and instructions provided by the client. iQ Services’ liability is limited to the amount invoiced for the assignment concerned and does not extend to indirect damages or loss of business.

9. Intellectual Property

Upon full payment, the client holds the rights to the translated or edited content delivered. iQ Services retains no rights to the final delivered text, other than for internal quality-control and record-keeping purposes.

10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These General Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law. Any dispute arising from or in connection with an assignment shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uetikon am See..
